ROLAND KRÜGER became a first prize winner of the prestigious Geneva Competition in 2001 and up till now Roland Krüger performed at many most important music halls such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, the Musikhalle (Laeiszhalle) in Hamburg, the Philharmonic Hall of Cologne, the Victoria Hall in Geneva, the Casino in Basel, the Beethoven Hall in Bonn, also at such festivals the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, the Rheingau Music Festival, the Ravello Festival in Italy. As a soloist he worked with orchestras among which Suisse Romande Orchestra, Belgian National Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra of Northern Germany Radio, Basel Symphonic Orchestra and Bethoveen Hall Orchestra under such conductors like Fabio Luisi, Dennis Russell Davies, Othmar Maga, Eiji Oue and Marc Soustrot.

Roland Krüger studied together with prof. Oleg Maisenberg and prof. Karl-Heinz Kämmerling. From 1999 until 2001 he was one of the very few selected students in the class of prof. Krystian Zimerman in Basel. His recordings include 12 Etudes by Debussy published under the Ars Musici label as well as solo works by F. Schubert, L. Janáček and B. Bartók released under Paladino Music label. For Naxos Records he recorded chamber music by Joseph Merk, Hummel transcriptions of W. A. Mozart symphonies and the complete works for cello and piano by C. Reinecke. In 2007, R. Krüger became professor at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media where he currently is the head of Keyboard and the head of the Solo Performance Programmes.

Many of his students regularly win prizes in international piano competitions such as Aarhus, Barletta, A. Rubinstein, H. von Bülow competitions, Young Pianists of the North Competition in Paris, Sendai, Clara Haskil, M. K. Čiurlionis and R. Schumann competitions. Roland Krüger has been giving masterclasses in Germany, Austria, Finland, China, Korea, Japan at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, the Mänttä Festival, the Berlin University of the Arts, the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz and the Lithuanian Music and Theater Academy in Vilnius. He himself is often invited as a jury member of national (Germany Music Competition, Germany Jugend musiziert Competition) and international (Čiurlionis, Tallinn, ZF Friedrichshafen, Grotrian, San Donà di Piave) piano competitions.
