Josef Kratochvil (b. 1995) graduated from Karol Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice, organ class of Julian Gembalski and piano class of Robert Marat. He is currently studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy in Leipzig, in an organ class of prof. Martin Schmeding and piano class of prof. Jacques Ammon. The organist is a laureate of many international competitions. The most important achievements of the past years are the third prize at the Petr Eben International Organ competition as well as DAAD scholarship. Josef made solo performances with State Philharmonic Orchestra of Košice, Janáček's Philharmony of Ostrava and with the Janáček‘s Conservatory Orchestra in Czech Republic. He performs as a soloist pianist as well as accompanies opera singers. The organist participated in numerous masterclasses led by world known musicians, such as Olivier Latry, David Titterington, Martin Sander, Jean-Babtiste Monnot, Wolfgang Seifen, Thierry Escaich, Jaroslav Tůma, Bernhard Haas, etc.
