Ae-shell Nam (b. 1988) studied sacred music at the Yonsei University in Seoul with the Su-One Park and Tong-Soon Kwak. Since 2011 the organist continued his training in the organ class of Eric Lebrun, and improvisation class of Pierre Pincemaille at the Regional Conservatory in Saint-Maur des Fossés. He entered Paris National Conservatory of Music and Dance for Master's Degree, studying with Olivier Latry and Michel Bouvard. Now Ae-shell continues Artist Diploma studies in Paris as well as Konzertexamen in Hochschule fur Musik und Theater Hamburg with Wolfgang Zerer. The organist won the third prize at the IV Jang Choen-Kiais Competition (2007). At the I International Organ Competition in Lyon (2009) he made into semi-finals; in 2010 he was awarded with the audience prize at the International Organ Competition Grand Prix de Chartres. In 2013 he won the third prize of César Franck Competition in Haarlem (The Netherlands). The organist was awarded with the first prize at the Prix Gaston Litaize and the Prix International d'Orgue Boëllmann-Gigout in 2016.
