Jan Kopřiva began to play the piano at the age of 5, the organ – at the age of 13. In 2015, he proceeded to Brno Conservatory, where he studied organ interpretation under the lead of prof. Zdeněk Nováček. After his graduation in 2021, he has continued his studies in the bachelor programme of the organ interpretation at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, in the class of prof. Johannes Ebenbauer. During his studies, Jan Kopřiva took part in several organ competitions – in the Organ Conservatory Competition in Brno (2019, 1st prize), the L. Janáček International Organ Competition (2022, 3rd prize). He also participated in several masterclasses, conducted by Thomas Ospital, Lionel Avot, Peter Planyavsky, Pier Damiano Peretti, Peter van Tour, Roman Perucki. Aside from concert activities, Jan Kopřiva is engaged in accompanying during the Holy Mass, he is also teaching piano and organ at the Primary School of Moravské Budějovice.
