IX International M. K. Čiurlionis Piano Competition

Tsuzumi Namikawa began to play the piano at the age of five. A student at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media with prof. Ewa Kupiec, she has been rewarded in numerous international competitions during her career as a pianist: in 2022 she won first prizes in the XIII International Fryderyk Chopin Competition in Marianske Lazne and in the International Piano E-Competition Napolinova in Naples, and second prizes in the International Carl Filtsch Competition-Festival in Sibiu and in the International Schimmel Piano Competition in Braunschweig. Some of her other achievements are ten awards in the International Competition Munich Piano Podium for the Youth and the first prize in the Carl Bechstein Competition in Berlin. After these achievements, after being honoured with the Louis Spohr Youth Music Prize of the City of Braunschweig, concerts in Germany, France, Finland and in her home country Japan followed. Throughout her music education, important artistic influence has been made by Akiko Ebi, Ewa Poblocka, Janina Fialkowska, Alexei Lubimov and Konstanze Eickhorst.
