Genki Takai is currently enrolled in the doctoral studies at the Tokyo University of the Arts (Geidai) under prof. Hiroshi Arimori. He was selected as an honor student and performed Piano Concerto No. 3 by S. Rachmaninoff with the Geidai Philharmonic Orchestra. He successfully participated in multiple international competitions and has won: the finalist prize in the IV Tallinn International Piano Competition, the 4th prize in the XV Vienna International Piano Competition and diploma prize in the LXI International Piano Competition Jaén Prize. He has been awarded with the Leonid Kreutzer Prize (2021) and has also received the honor musical prizes in Japan (for example, Geidai Klavier Grand Prix and Acanthus Music Award etc.), he is exhibitioner (for example, he was granted with the scholarships from the Fund of Munetsugu Angel, Tobe Maki Foundation, Fund of L. Kreutzer, Fund of Geidai Klavier). He performed the piano concerto with Estonian National Symphony Orchestra in 2021. Also, he performs S. Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 with the West Tokyo Symphony Orchestra in 2023 season.
