Filip Šmerda (b. 1999) began musical studies at the age of five. Now he is studying organ (class of prof. Zdenek Novacek) and piano (class of Martin Fisl) at the Brno Conservatory. He is also studying organ improvisation, orchestra and choir conducting as well as composition. From the beginning of his studies, he attends many competitions successfully. The organist won the first prizes at the International Competition "Pro Bohemia" for Organ in Ostrava (2018) as well as the International Petr Eben Organ Competition in Opava (2018). Filip regularly performs at concerts, performed as a solo organist with orchestra for several times. In Brno, he acts as a church organist and a choir master. At the same time, he teaches piano at the elementary art school.
